Advantages of the Gladiator System
GENERIC ADVANTAGES OF THE MULTILAYER PIPE
ventajas del sistema GLADIATOR
 1. Economic. It's price is lower than the traditional copper pipes.

2. Malleable. Installation is carried out in an easy, quick and economical way because multilayer pipes have: Enormous possibilities of curvature in cold conditions. Curves of 90º degrees can be made without using elbows. Once they have been bent, they maintain this shape. In this sense, multilayer pipes behave more as a metallic pipe than as a plastic pipe.
3. Minimum Dilation. Longitudinal dilation of multilayer pipes is practically the same as that of copper pipes and that is why one of the traditional disadvantage of plastic pipes is eliminated.

4.Suitable for visible installations. Multilayer pipes, thanks to the aluminium layer, keep their aesthetic appeal in visible installations because they keep straight after water at high temperature has flowed through them.. This allows to increase the distance required between staples or fixing brackets.

5.No necessity of protection for multilayer pipes. In some installations it is possible not to use a corrugated pipe as a protection, because multilayer pipe can not be damaged by any material used on the building site (plaster, cement, mortar, etc.) and due to its special characteristics can dilate without the need of an air chamber.

6.Anti-Oxygen Barrier. The aluminium barrier acts as an anti- oxygen barrier and helps to delay the oxidation of the metallic elements of heating installations.

7.Resistance to High Temperatures. (95ºC in a continuous way with peaks till 110º).

8.Resistance to High Pressures. (12 Kg/cm2.)

9. Long Lifespan. ( Up to 50 years in accordance with work conditions ).

10.Lightness.( Up to 7 times lighter than copper pipes).
SPECIFIC ADVANTAGES OF BARBI GLADIATOR SYSTEM
Apart from the common advantages of all multilayer pipes, BARBI GLADIATOR offers a series of advantages, to the installer as well as to the wholesaler and to the project team.

1.Total Security. The Cross-Linked Polyethylene inner layer itself supports perfectly the normal conditions of work of plumbing and heating.

2.Resistance to mechanical wear and tear. Any wear and tear that may occur on the outside of the polyethylene  or on the aluminium layer will not affect the lifespan and performance of the pipe. The installer must not be afraid of any more damage that can affect the pipe once he has left the building site. (Example: damage caused to pipe by bricklayers or other tradesmen).

3.Reliability when faced with possible manufacturing problems. Multilayer pipes are technically complicated ones. In traditional multilayer pipes any manufacturing problem will reduce their features. In the case of BARBI GLADIATOR pipes, possible defects that could affect the outside layers such as  welding, corrosion of the aluminium or  adherence problems between layers, will not affect the lifespan or the performance of the pipe due to the inner cross-linked polyethylene layer which supports perfectly the hardest work conditions.

4. Suitable range. 16 mm. pipe perfectly replaces the 15 mm. copper pipe, since it also has the same inner diameter (16 mm.) and therefore its rate of flow. This avoids the need to use multilayer pipes 18 mm. diameter  and allows  the use of the classic range of fittings without any kind of modification. (Diameters: 16, 20, 25 and 32).

5.One single pipe for all applications. Thanks to the compatibility of BARBI  fittings and tools , BARBI GLADIATOR system can be used for heating as well as for plumbing.


    

ADVANTAGES OF THE JOINT BARBI SYSTEM

BARBI GLADIATOR pipes are compatible with BARBI fittings widely used for the connection of  cross-linked polyethylene pipes.

1. Compatibility. Thanks to its compatibility, the same system of fittings can be used  for the joints of cross-linked polyethylene pipes and for  multilayer pipes BARBI GLADIATOR. BARBI fittings can also be used for the connections of polibuthylene pipes (PB), as long as the diameters and  thicknesses fit with the polibuthylene pipes (its use with polibuthylene pipe is validated in France- Avis Thecnique BARBI 14 + 15/95-396).

2. One single fittings stock. BARBI GLADIATOR system avoids the need to keep a fitting stock for cross-linked polyethylene and an additional one for multilayer pipes. That represents a considerable saving for the wholesaler and reduces headaches for the installer.

3. Affordable tool. BARBI GLADIATOR system only requires the standard BARBI tool , available for a modest price, reliable, easy  to use and widely used by installers.

4. Vesrsatiliy. Thanks to its multiple advantages, it is very profitable to use BARBI fittings system for  heating as well as for plumbing.

5. Advantages in comparison with other press fitting systems. BARBI system has many advantages in comparison with Press fitting systems: Reliability: BARBI system never fails, is 100% reliable. Press fitting systems require the joint to be made very carefully paying attention to many details such as the calibre of the pipe, not to move the o rings from their position, use the right jaw for each brand, make sure that the fittings are suitable for the pipe that is being used at that moment, etc. Economy: BARBI system fittings apart from being safer, are also more economical than fittings for press fitting. Range of product. BARBI range of fittings is much wider than any other range of press fitting. With BARBI system you will always find the right solution for any problem or requirement that you have during your installations. Greater rate of flow. BARBI system allows the circulation of a rate of flow far superior to that of the press fitting. This greater flow is obtained thanks to the fact that in the BARBI system we widen the pipe with the calibrating tool and we always use fittings of a free inner diameter bigger than in the case of fitting for press fitting ( look at the picture below). Simplicity. The steps to follow with BARBI system are extremely simple. The training of new workers is not a problem thanks to the simplicity of the BARBI system.
